Since 1990, Ashkiyoun has stood out with its distinctive “Jafarnejad” collection, later expanding with “Sahara” (2010) and “Shahdad” (2018). These three unique yet unified collections blend creativity and innovation with the deep-rooted traditions of Persian carpet weaving. This harmony between heritage and modern design defines Ashkiyoun’s concept of luxury and quality, forming the shared identity across all its creations.
Sahara
Composed of wool and silk, this collection uses a special blend of spring wool from young sheep in Iran’s mountainous and desert-edge regions, producing works that are refined, lively, and full of spirit. The name “Sahara” (Desert) not only refers to the type of wool but also reflects the purity and enduring nature of its style. This collection is a fusion of the simplicity of heritage with the complexity of modernity. Initially, Sahara was produced in limited numbers, following the same philosophy as Jafarnejad, aimed at those who preferred wool-silk or pure wool carpets instead of pure silk. Over time, with growing expertise and rising demand, it evolved into an independent collection with its own identity, philosophy, and purpose.
