Arāyeh
A Harmony of Ornament and Structure
Description
Arāyeh is an exploration of the grandeur of classical motifs through a cohesive and contemporary perspective; a composition in which order, repetition, and ornamentation form the foundation of the design. Drawing upon the authentic motifs of Persian carpet art, the designer creates a symmetrical structure that guides the eye from the surrounding borders toward the center, ultimately arriving at the central medallion as the focal point of the composition. In this design, each motif finds its place within the larger composition—from the surrounding frames and rhythmic repetition of decorative elements to the multiple layers that unfold around the center. Here, repetition is more than a decorative device; it becomes a means of creating rhythm, balance, and continuity across the entire field. Arāyeh emerges from this interplay of order and detail; a design in which the heritage of classical Persian carpet language is accompanied by a precise approach to proportion, structure, and composition. The result is an artwork whose presence comes not from a single element, but from the harmony created among all of its parts.
