Inspired by the venerated 12th century Persian poet Sa’dï Shirazi’s verse above (woven into the carpet itself) that questions the culmination of a tale of love, the design intends to portray two different endings… the ‘glory’ of eternal love and the ‘dwindling’ of unfulfilled love, sentiments reflected in the name we have given to the carpet: ‘Faded Glory’.
